David: Our poll from last week on www.DavidPakman.com, is the Japanese nuclear power crisis changing
your views about nuclear power? 60% say they are more against nuclear power now after what
has been going on in Japan. 30% say that it has not affected their position, 10% are more
in favor. I said I would indicate my answer. I am actually unchanged. This has not affected
my position, my position was pretty clear before, which is that we need to be finding
other sources of energy as quick as possible. This does not change that opinion. What about
you?
Louis: Well, as you know, I'm for nuclear power, at least as an interim source of power
until we have something that can sustain us.
David: Right. In the abstract, rather, you are for it in the specific situation that
we're in.
Louis: Right.
David: You believe it is something that for now, we should derive power from.
Louis: Right. I mean, clearly, plants just need to be... people need to be smarter about
building plants. I mean, when you're on a fault line like in Japan, clearly there's
just something wrong with the way they were built.
David: Yeah. We're going down that road. I mean, you know, Japan is small, and... but
let's not go into it too much, but anyway, those are the results, and you've heard from
Louis. You may be shocked by what he is saying, and please email us if you are.
The new poll, how long will the U.S. be involved in the Libyan conflict? www.DavidPakman.com,
let us know.
Here's your emails. On IRS abortion audits: "How is this not a violation of the HIPAA
Agreement? How is the government not interfering between a citizen and their doctor if people
are forced to report abortions on their taxes?" Good question.
"It's a good thing the GOP believe in small government and the teabag movement is a fiscal
movement rather than a moral movement. I'm being sarcastic, if you can't tell."
And, "The GOP will do all they can to divert attention away from not being able to spur
job growth in America. They do plenty to help job growth in low-wage countries."
On the topic of Mississippi's poor education and financial situation showing us the future
of anti-union bills: "These unions do not represent all of America. Their membership
has declined in every sector. They represent a money machine for the Democrat Party." Well,
there's one take.
And, "Update on Wisconsin: the restraining order to halt the implementation of the union-busting
bill has held. A superior court said the bill was passed in violation of the state's sunshine
laws demanding public meetings." I said it before, I'll say it again, the future is not
in that bill being held up in Wisconsin. We'll see you on the bonus show in just a few minutes.
