Hi I'm Kev from K Gunner Guitar and recently I've had the pleasure of playing
a couple of guitars from a new company called Double Slit.
This particular model is the Proton. The body is based on a Nighthawk shape.
There's a couple of things, it's made of lots of different woods
the back part, this is sapele.
It has a nice rounded profile on the back. On the front
we have a hand-carved quilted cherry top
this is reversed book matched its unfinished at the moment
but it will be nice and shiny soon. There's a fixed bridge.
This is a schaller 456 bridge. Two Bare Knuckle Mule pickups.
Two volumes, both with coil-taps.
Two tones and a 3-way selector switch.
This is vintage style wiring, which means that
in the middle position you can blend...
the two pickups together.
So moving on to the neck we have a 26 inch scale length,
with a wide neck profile, meaning there's extra room on the top and bottom strings for
vibrato....like so.
There's 24 frets, the fretboard is figured ash. The headstock on the back here
is walnut with a flame cherry top.
It's a traditional shaped head stock with
Schaller locking tuners. The nut is ebony
this is unfinished at the moment. On the back of the neck,
you can see, there's quite a nice design. So we have flame maple
a small ebony stripe which
you might not be able to see, rosewood in the center, another ebony stripe
and back to the flame maple.
