If you're new to UTS, finding a decent coffee or somewhere to go for lunch can be just as
important as finding your next lecture. So we've put together a simple guide to some
of the best restaurants and cafes in and around our City Campus.
If you're after something quick, tasty and cheap, head to the UTS Union's Concourse Caféin
Building 1 or Harris St Café in Building 4.
Building 10's Café 10, the Design Café in Building 6 or the Art of Food Café down in
Haymarket are also great options on campus. Think free food tastes better? Keep an eye
out for the Student Association's Blue Bird Brekkie Bar during semester time.
Stepping off campus, you'll find some of Sydney's best cheap eats in Chinatown or along Broadway's
retail strip. In fact, you'd probably have to study two degrees just to try them all
out! Paddy's markets and Broadway Shopping Centre
are a short walk away for grocery shopping, and, right across the road, our neighbours
at Central Park now host a brand new food court and a Woolworths .
If you've got leftovers to reheat or a pack of instant noodles late at night, most buildings
have student kitchenettes with a microwave and boiling water.
For a liquid lunch or a drink with friends after class, head to the UTS Union's two on-campus
bars, The Loft and Glasshouse. Right now, the Glasshouse Bar is being refurbished, alongside
the entire Building 1 food court. It will reopen as 'The Underground' in Semester 1,
2014. All these restaurants, cafes and bars are
on the UTS Maps page on our website. If you've got another suggestion for the best
eats at UTS, leave a comment below or visit our Facebook page where you can also find
out about the new cafes and bars opening in our three new buildings from mid-2014.
