Please find this product at http://absupply.net/ This video is to bring you a closer look at
the Pemko 345C. This is a clear anodized aluminum drip cap is what this is. This is a drip cap
because this is attached to. This model is typically attached to the bottom of the door
to help prevent water from collecting and pooling underneath the door. This model can
also be installed at the header, but typically Pemko's 346 is what you would see at the header
because the projection is significantly greater. This can be installed bottom of the door or
on the header. If it is installed on the bottom of the door, you will want to order basically
the door size except of course if you are mounting it on the push side of the door which
means you would be installing that between the stops typically. If you are installing
it on the header, generally you would order it not only the size of the door but the outside
dimension of that header. People who are in the know, people who make a living by installing
doors and hardware always use drip caps on exterior doors. Always. There are people that
make a living as a door installation professional that swear by the effectiveness of something
so simple as a piece of aluminum in this shape mounted in a strategic location. So, the 345
is representative of Pemkos drip cap the smaller dimension of the two. I coincidentally have
Pemko's 346 here and you can see the difference. The 346 is significantly wider or greater
projection. Now dimensionally there is an image below this video that shows everything
important about this unit. You can see from that image that it is 1-1/2" overall height,
I'm holding it upside down of course. Projection is 9/16", little bit less important of a dimension
in terms of installing it but none the less, it is the important dimension. Available in
several different finishes. Dark bronze, painted white, satin nickel, gold, milled aluminum
as well. This is clear anodized. Available in several different lengths. If you have
need for a custom length, by all means let us know by ordering the next longest piece
or pieces and indicate in the comment field what length you would like for us to cut the
material back to. The reasoning is if you had to take this 36" piece and cut it down
to 32" you would eliminate that slotted hole there and the next one is all the way over
here. Speaking of holes, screws are included in a complementary finish. If you have a need
for a custom length, order it by ordering the next longest piece on the website and
indicate in the comment field what length you would like for us to cut the material
back to. The reasoning with that is if you were to cut that down you would eliminate
that slotted hole. You would be left with having to drill a new hole and drilling a
slotted hole of course is difficult. It is nice to have those slotted holes from the
factory so that you can tailor this to the exact conditions of the frame or the door.
Your sill may not be level; your door may not be plumb, etc. You might when drilling
the pilot holes for the screw, misdrill it a little bit. You know when you are drilling
steel or wood or aluminum or fiberglass, that drill has a tendency to walk a little bit
before it pierces through if you have not used a center punch. So if you order a custom
length, we will not only locate this first slotted hole at the proper distance from the
edge, but the proper center to center as well. Pemko is a full line manufacturer of all things
weather stripping related. Not only drip caps like this, but thresholds and perimeter gasketing
and door sweeps. Material made of aluminum, stainless steel, architectural bronze, and
they even have a full line of aluminum continuous geared hinges. Any questions on the Pemko
