Hey guys this is Heather from healthyeatingstartshere.com. So, a new friend of mine, her name is Jill,
and she writes a blog over at veganbackpacker.com. So Jill is a new friend of mine here in Ottawa.
Her and her husband were traveling for the last year, and Phil and I met them through
their blog and then we were able to meet them in person because we also moved to Ottawa.
So we were able to get to know them a little bit and then Jill was kind enough to nominate
me for a 'One Lovely Blog' award. And what this involves is I now have to post 7 things
about myself and nominate 15 other lovely blogs for this same award, kind of like a
chain letter, but blog-style.
Very fun because you get to learn about people that you only know through their website and
you also get to learn about some new blogs that you maybe hadn't heard about before.
So as part of this One Lovely Blog award I'm gonna share a few things about myself today
and I'll post the rest of them on the written blog, so if you're really interested about
me, you can go check that out.
So a few things. Number one - my very first job was as a liveguard and swimming instructor,
and that was in some community pools, but I always dreamed of being a beach lifeguard.
You know in the movies where they just sit up there and get a nice tan and look out with
their binoculars and what not. Anyway, it didn't happen. I stuck with the pools. But
it was fun.
The second thing I'll share is three of my favorite fiction books. One is Barney's Version
by Mordecai Richler and that has recently been made into a movie which I haven't seen
yet. I’m a little nervous because I love the book so much. It’s hilarious and I know
they changed the premise a lot to make it into a movie format. So I’m kinda nervous
to see it, if anyone of you have seen it and loved it let me know or if you hated it, let
me know that too and I can maybe avoid the pain.
Another favorite book is “For Whom The Bells Tolls” by Ernest Hemmingway and The BFG
by Roald Dahl. Roald Dahl is one of my favorite authors and the BFG is a pretty cute story.
It’s a children book if you haven’t heard of it.
One last thing about me I have this really bad habit if there, if there’s pineapple
in front of me I can’t really stop eating it. Even though I know it’s gonna burn my
tongue and I’m going to regret it I just, I just can’t stop. I have this extreme weakness
for pretty much any tropical fruit but especially pineapple.
And I’ll throw a new nutritional tidbit in here for you. Pineapple has an enzyme in
it and it is called bromelain. That is helpful in digesting the pineapple and it is also
helpful for digesting proteins. So a lot of people actually take this as a supplement
- a bromelain supplement. It often comes with another enzyme called papain which is in papaya,
so tropical fruits are excellent for protein digesting enzymes.
Alright, so that’s it for me today you can head over to the written blog to read few
more a little tidbits about me. And also read my list of 15 blogs that I nominated for this
same award.
Your question today is are there any blogs that you would nominate for a one lovely blog
award?
I would be very interested to know so leave me a comment if you have a good one that I
should check out.
