hi everyone unless even on the instructor for the course of the comics
american culture
and i just wanted to take this time to talk a little bit about the course, kind of
where came from y i'm teaching at and why you might like it
so i've been i've been a reader of comics for since i was in seventh grade
uh... i've of optus read thousands of comics probly tens of thousands of
comics in my life
and sometime graduate school at became aware that connection study comics
academically have
really excited because america i think these kind of things
and when i got out of that but when i got out of grad school i a found myself
at north shore community college and i thought
where students knew they could study comics
in college that would probably change people's interests of the ways in which
people thought about education that you can do some really cool things in
college bruno
i propose this course and i've been running it now for boat college for five
years at northrop community college
and it's of course i really enjoyed teaching obviously im and very
passionate about it but i it's also very rewarding course to see students come in
varies
particular expectations above the course particularly around what comics are and
what they'll do in this course and this is for both people who have been
hardcore comics fans love people who've never picked up a comic
and so it's a really rewarding experience the kind of see that as
students navigate their way
through comics in understanding what they are in is always a rewarding
experience for me because i have
in a classroom you know all of my students bring something to the
classroom that i get to take away that i learn about maybe it's a new car maker
to new way of looking at things so
with that said i hope you decide on for the course and i hope to see you in
class and i promise in class that i will not help hold sticking out of whitehead
thank you very much
