In eco energy news, a solar plant in Thailand is expected to power up to 70,000 homes. The
Lopburi Solar Project, situated 180 kilometers north of Bangkok, will generate 55 megawatts
of electricity when it begins operating in November 2011. Financed by a US$70 million
construction loan by the Asian Development Bank, it is part of Thailand’s new policy
to promote alternative energy. The goal of this plan is for 20% of the power needed by
the country to come from Earth-friendly sources by 2020.
Our earnest thankfulness, Thailand, for your steps towards a sustainable future. May all
nations adopt green practices, foremost being the low-emissions vegan diet, for a verdant
and long-lasting planet.
