Wah, your singing very nice ah! Sing so loudly.
Are you deaf?
Or you join American Idol is it?
Oh, sorry. I forgot you're a bit slow.
A bit retarded one right?
I know. I know I'm a slow learner.
But you know, my mom always told me that we must learn to love and respect our country
So that's why I sing really loudly for my country.
Pfft, only you so stupid think like that
What for I need to sing so loudly?
It's just a dumb song
Hey! How can you say that?
That's our national anthem. You need to respect it.
So what?
Why must I sing this dumb song?
Why must I love this country who never even done anything for me?
After all, when I'm older, I'm definitely gonna migrate
Oh, I know why he so goody-two-shoes
Because ah, he not clever wan ah
So, he need to rely on this country
Not like us, we can go overseas, go university
Cause we have intelligence, not like this one
So, what are you gonna do about it?
Let's go bro. Let's continue letting this idiot put up his own flags.
Ladies and gentlemen
For the Student of the Year for 2013
Let us welcome Joshua Low on stage!
Hi, my name is Joshua Low
And today, I would not want to talk about myself
but I would like to talk about our country, this country
which has given me the opportunity to succeed
I am Malaysian and I am very proud of our Negaraku, Rukun Negara and Jalur Gemilang
because I love my country
But people make fun of me for this love
They laugh at me
But I still love my country
We have gone through so much hardships to have this peaceful country
We have been colonized
But we made it through
And on the 31st of August 1957, we sung our own song for the first time
The Negaraku
A symbol that this is our country
A symbol of our blessed land where we live in unity
We flew our own flag, the Jalur Gemilang
Its colours representing the bravery
Unity
Purity
And royalty of Malaysia
We went through dark times
And that is why we have the Rukun Negara
As an oath to the country that unites the people of Malaysia
Regardless of race or religion
You know, sometimes
You may wonder yourself
Why do we do the pointless stuff such as singing the Negaraku?
What has it got to do with loving your country?
Well, it's the same reason why we have names
Identity
Negaraku is the identity of Malaysia
Where we are Malaysians
Thus, Negaraku is our identity
And our name
To tell others your name is one thing
To sing it is another
Imagine if you could sing your name
Wouldn't it show your pride for your name?
Singing might be a little embarrassing
Especially when you're doing it with a thousand other people
But if you're willing to sacrifice your self-consciousness to show your identity as a Malaysian
That is when your love for your country is really shown
Soldiers sacrifice their lives for their country.
You can afford to sacrifice a little thing called self-consciousness.
Be proud of your national anthem, pledge and flag
For it is your identity
