Work, work, work... Good job I have my desk clock handy!
This is deskclock for your Samsung Galaxy S4. A semi-permanent display for your phone
that works in both portrait and landscape. The trouble is, it's a feature that's a little
hidden away so here's how to find it.
Go to your clock application where you'll find alarms, stopwatch and so on. The top
set of tabs can actually be swiped right to left and doing this will reveal the desk clock
option.
Deskclock displays the time, weather and calendar that you can press on to show you what appointments
you have. Obviously I'm not very busy.
If you press the menu button on your phone you can hide the applications at the bottom
or add new applications to it.
These applications only appear in full screen mode of desk clock and when you exit the application
you are returned to deck clock, not the phone's homescreen (unless you press the home button).
The settings option provides you with a couple more features that include hiding your notification
tray, setting a wallpaper for your deskclock (which can be a live wallpaper if you wish)
and a range of dock options if you actually plug in and charge the phone while you're
using it in desk clock mode.
The idea behind desk clock is that the screen is always on and sits on your desk while you're
working. What you're seeing now is the active version of deskclock, but if you leave it
for a minute it will go into this screensaver mode, but touching your device will bring
it back into active mode.
And one last pointer, the grey button in the top right takes you into or out of full screen
mode.
So if you want to turn your phone into a clock/calendar, give desk clock a try. Just remember this
will seriously drain your phone's battery life.
