South Korea has announced the dates for its upcoming military drills with the United States.
Seoul's Defense Ministry says that the annual Key Resolve exercises will begin in exactly
two weeks time -- February 24th -- and run through March 6th.
The Foal Eagle exercises will run until April 18th.
The drills could disrupt the two Koreas' plans to resume reunions for families separated
since the Korean War, scheduled for February 20th to the 25th, as the North had earlier
warned the reunions cannot be held simultaneously with practices for a war.
South Korea continues to reiterate the drills are purely defensive in nature.
Seoul said it notified Pyongyang of the dates on Sunday but the North has yet to respond.
