NARRATOR: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma has a proud history of being a positive member
of the community for many years. We have made it our mission to contribute to the health
and wellness of Oklahoma, and 2013 was no exception. Throughout the year, our employees
donated their time and money to organizations and events throughout the state, creating
lasting memories they can be proud of.

MAHOGANY: I think people want to help out
with things like this, because Blue Cross and Blue Shield is there for our members already,
so this is just something else we love to do, help other people, and volunteer with the community.
AMY: This event is very important to Blue
Cross and Blue Shield because we are so health and wellness focused. We like to be out here,
not only to support the runners, but to support the community.
EMILY: We are so excited! We have Blue Cross and Blue Shield people out here. We have a
crew of 10, and they have already built all of these beds...it's noon. They've built 10
beds, filled them, laid mulch all the way around it, and they are an amazing group of people.
We are so incredibly overwhelmed that they would come out and take their own time
to come help our program this way. NARRATOR: Blue Cross and Blue Shield has given
many grants to organizations that are making an impact for Oklahomans in need, and has
sponsored multiple events that emphasize health and wellness in the community.
DAVID: I'd like to thank you all, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, for being a partner of ours.
It's been a pleasure working with you. But, just becoming a partner, has really been able
to help us expand the quality of programs we are able to offer the kids here at the Turtle Camp.
GARY: Blue Cross and Blue Shield has a tremendous
reputation, a tremendous reputation with the history of partnership, and public and private
partnerships are what makes this work. It's the only way to get it done!
RON: Every child in Oklahoma deserves the chance for a healthy life. And we really believe that.
That's what this is all about. We want to help those kids, and there's no better
start for a child than to be immunized. So, everything we've done over the years is for
the benefit of our members. In fact, that's a question we ask ourselves in everything
we do: "Is this good for our members? Is this good for the state of Oklahoma?
Is this good for the citizens of Oklahoma?"
KYM: I really feel like one of our goals with
this event is to help educate the community. We know we have a lot of people who aren't
insured in Northeastern Oklahoma and throughout the state, and one of our goals here is to
really help people understand that we are really here to help them and to
also let them know we are here to answer their questions.
NARRATOR: These combined efforts are making
a difference in the lives of not only the people in our communities, but also the lives
of our employees. Because when we work together to achieve a common goal, and help those around
us, we are all changed for the better... and that impact lasts a lifetime.
