Hi, I'm Dr. Frank Lista and this is The Plastic Surgery Clinic. And I'm up here on the surgical
level in one of our storage areas standing in front of a bunch of our equipment to talk
about culture of care. What is culture of care? Well, it's a culture that we grow here
in the clinic amongst all of our staff saying that what we're about is taking care of patients.
And it's our goal not just to be good, but to be the best that can possibly be when giving
plastic surgery to our patients. Patients say, "is it safe doing surgery in a private
clinic?" What I say is that our clinic is even better than some public hospitals. We
actually have a type of hospital license called an independent health facility and an out
of hospital program facility where we're licensed by the government to perform surgeries, some
of them OHIP procedures, but some of them cosmetic procedures, on patients. And what
we do and what the staff does is bring in all of the expertise and all of the papers
and journal articles that have ever been written about giving really great care and delivering
that to our patients. So it's about going the extra mile and doing extra things, like
putting on sequential compression devices to prevent blood clots, like warming patients
to reduce the need of narcotics, like pain pumps to make people feel better after. So
if you're visiting us through the website, we're going to create a whole section of the
website called culture of care and you can come every week and see about us talking about
different things that we do. Or you can follow us on Twitter, or on Facebook, or even our
YouTube channel, to see how we talk about culture of care, to making our care the best
possible plastic surgery care that's possible to be delivered anywhere. So follow us, thanks
for coming, I'm Frank Lista at The Plastic Surgery Clinic.
