Hello, Ponguj's here, and today we'll talk about pretty known theory, Dream Theory.
It isn't huge known or beloved in Poland, but a lot of people around the world believes it, even MatPat, if he didn't changed his mind - prefers that option.
What is it whole about?
Hope you enjoy ;)
Generally, i'll start with this, that I personally don't agree with Dream Theory.
I'm not saying it's bad or "just wrong", but I can't agree with it.
To be clear.
I'm not trying to convince you to this theory, just show it.
Idea of Dream Theory is simple.
Everything is a dream, FNaF1 is a dream, FNaF2 is a dream, FNaF3 is a dream.
Ironically, FNaF4 is less a dream than the others,
Gameplay is obviously just a nightmare, unlike in other games.
but this game is only one to show real events - in minigames.
There are different theories of Dream Theory, so I can't obviously tell you everything.
Different people have different explainations, I show you, what convinces me the most.
Dream Theory focus on this, that bitten child from FNaF4 in minigames sees lots of references to previous games.
And so, he had dreams of stories he heard about.
There's no killer - just urban legend about living, murderous animatronics.
According to this theory, The Bite of '87 is an event, that this kid was scared about.
He made up the bite as something, he was scared, and told it to his brother.
Brother laughed about it, considered it stupid, and unwillingly, he made real bite.
But, kid expected that earlier.
He didn't knew he wil get bitten, but he was afraid about it.
And so, this theory in some way agrees with two bites.
Fredbear's Bite isn't "The Bite of '87".
This famous bite was made up by kid, but never happened really.
He says about this bite, before real one happens.
According to this theory, FNaF4 is last, missing piece to FNaF story
This last game is supposed to show us, it's just a dream.
These references appears in minigame after Night 3.
Bitten child is walking between location and his house, and sees 5 kids, where every one of them says something different.
Most important thing is - we can connect some of these words to specific games.
First one - kid just near the entrance.
Funniest thing about this kid, there are divided opinions if it's a boy or a girl, so... It's a kid.
Kid with Spring Bonnie.
He calls his toy Fingertrap.
And he says, it could bite.
According to Dream Theory, spring animatronics doesn't have to be dangerous in use.
We just don't know how they works, thing that they're dangerous could be just made up in this kid's mind.
Actually, we don't know if they're exists, it doesn't matter actually.
It can be, that his words made bitten child believe in existence of springlock animatronics.
He heard, that Spring Bonnie can bite, and so he came with conclusion that
Springlock suit can "bite" you, when you're inside so crush, cut, kill, etc.
Also, it's seems to be too big coincidence, that this kid calls Spring Bonnie - Fingertrap
Meanwhile FNaF3 tells us about Springtrap.
So it may support this theory.
According to this theory, FNaF3 is our bitten kid dream, made thanks to kid with Spring Bonnie plush.
Thanks to "Fingertrap", he thought about big, dangerous suit, and someone, who died in it.
And so, he dreams FNaF3 game.
Next girl in this minigame tells us a story of animatronics, that comes to life in night, and can kill you, and hid your body.
These words strongly refers to FNaF1.
To game, where you ends stuffed into animatronic.
and where Phone Guy scares us with several nightguards dead already.
Third kid doesn't tell us anything really important
Just tells us not to be a crybaby and hid under the table.
But, next girl, with toys, she has something interesting.
I'm talking about her toys.
They're Toy Animatronics.
From one way, it convinces people, that game had to happen in 1987, when Toy Animatronics were already made.
For me, Toy Animatronics are based on these animatronics, and so the name "Toys".
According to Dream Theory it's similar, Toy Animatronics are based on toys, but in a dream.
Bitten kid makes a dream with these characters, and calls all them - Toy Animatronics.
This dream is FNaF2.
So we have some references to every FNaF game.
Also, last kid seems to resemble some very interesting character.
Chronologically, order of events isn't really important.
FNaF1, FNaF2 and FNaF3 happened all as a dreams that kid dreamed about before the bite in random order between minigames.
You could say, that chronologically, it's FNaF1 - FNaF2 - FNaF3 - FNaF4.
It's interesting, it may explain some Scott jokes in game, like references to FNaF1 in FNaF2.
Pretty interesting argument regarding Dream Theory was said by MatPat from Game Theory channel.
Fact, that every night in every FNaF ends in the same way - with sound of a grandfather clock.
Which is pretty weird, it doesn't seem to fit with pizzeria or horror house.
It'd be more logical for it to be a dream of a kid, who has grandfather clock nearby.
Not a normal nightguard in normal work.
Sound pretty nice, even more.
Each night can be considered a one hour then and so - Night 6 would end on 6AM.
So... It fits.
Also... /\
This hint about FNaF4 was given by Scott during one of MatPat's livestreams.
For me, it's something what kid was scared about from the beginning - stuffing a man inside a Fredbear suit.
Nothing bad really happened, just a man in normal job, gone into Fredbear suit.
For dream theory - the thing he was scared about was The Bite of '87, and this hint isn't related to it.
About Purple Guy.
It's pretty interesting, if murders are just a legend - there's no killer.
According to Dream Theory, Purple Guy is just a guy in shadows.
and our kid was scared because of him.
Purple color often refers to a character or item hidden in the shadows.
But - besides that, there are also things in this theory I can't actually agree with.
First thing - bitten child is scared of Fredbear.
Terribly, right?
And so, why FNaF1, FNaF2 and FNaF3 doesn't show any single piece of Fredbear?
It's pretty important question.
There's jus a Golden Freddy with black elements.
It's just a golden version of typical Freddy - it's focused on Freddy, not Fredbear.
It should be the one, he's feared the most.
If he's scared because of this animatronic, why he isn't important in his dreams?
We can find one, single thing about Fredbear in FNaF2 - Fredbear's Family Diner.
Nothing more ever.
Secondly, chronology doesn't fit for me there.
According to Dream Theory, kid had to know about murderous animatronic legend some time before pre-Night 1 minigame.
Firstly - he had to know it to tell his brother, to be bullied by him about that.
Secondly, there's not enough place after Night 3 minigame to show 3 FNaF games.
If one night = one FNaF, kid has to have a dream of one game, before he heard about all these things here.
There's no time between to put three games, just two.
Between finding about all these stories and getting bitten.
And connecting everything, FNaF1 should have to appear before.
But
Kid obviously seems to get scared by girl words, according to her words about his reaction.
He should know about it from long time already, still be scared, but be aware about it.
She says it, like he really got scared by her words - it was something new to him.
Thirdly and lastly,
Well, I could even agree with Dream Theory, if not that single thing.
FNaF is too much complicated for it.
Okay, I can agree that this kid may dreamed a lot of things, like Springtrap, murderous animatronics,
purple killer, toys, etc.
But!
The problem is, he "dreamed" much, much more.
Way too much
What exactly?
Drawings, he had in mind pretty well crafted story about both location and sister places to it.
Drawing of FNaF2 suggests, that in some period of time, Mangle replaced Foxy and was working with old animatronics.
We know about several sister locations,
We can find things like STAGE01, location with Golden Freddy, not Fredbear
Safe Room *** was perfectly made and thought.
There are also complicated incidents and minigames.
And all of these can be somehow loosely related to Dream Theory, but even if you could find explainations for every one, it'd be still too much complicated I think.
For it to be true, we have to agree with one.
Kid invented whole new world related to all his fears.
He made up all these locations, horror houses etc.
Future, past,
And he was really involved in his creation.
And if so, we could agree, in this game this kid somehow represents Scott Cawthon.
They both created FNaF story.
But crying kid less.
The problem with it is - Story doesn't actually fit in this "kid being storyteller" thing.
And well, that's all I wanted to say in this episode.
Personally, I don't agree with it, but I just accept it as a theory.
There are lots of good points here.
For me, there are no weird ways to solve FNaF, it's just a story of victims, not a story of victim and his dreams.
Meanwhile, that's all in this episode.
Last thing I could add is info, that POPGOES animatronic models were released on SFM.
Only main ones, for now, and in similar time to Patreon first rewards.
If you have some SFM skills and want to show it, you can make something with use of these POPGOES models, and I'll show them at the end of next POPGOES video.
I also tried this SFM thing, and I'm pretty proud, I know how to move this thing.
If you can make better, show it.
Meanwhile, thanks for watching, I invite you to comment, even in English, see you soon in the next episodes, bye!
