In the crowded field of compact SUVs the Nissan Rogue and the Honda CR-V are both serious
contenders. This is the best selling class of vehicles in America, and every auto maker
wants to grab more of those sales. In this video, we'll take a close look at these two
SUVS side-by-side so you have all the information you need to make your choice.
The Nissan Rogue offers a stylish and modern interior with chrome highlights and special
zero-gravity seats. Nissan says that these seats are designed to reduce fatigue and maximize
comfort. Seat heat is also available, as is leather upholstery. The Rogue also offers
optional third row seating that folds flat for cargo use. The Honda CR-V is available
with every modern convenience depending on the trim level you select. Every CR-V offers
a center console designed for the needs of the modern world and all trims of the CR-V
offer 70 cubic feet of cargo capacity. At the higher trim levels, buyers receive leather
upholstery and heated seats.
Nissan builds the Rogue with a 2.4L DOHC 4-cylinder engine rated at 170hp and 175lb-ft of torque.
Engine power is passed to the wheels through a continuously variable transmission. Road
buyers can choose from either front or all-wheel drive. A very capable 2.4L 4-cylinder engine
rated at 185hp and 181lb-ft of torque powers the Honda CR-V. Power is delivered through
a continuously variable transmission and buyers can select from either front or all-wheel
drive.
The Rogue features EPA estimated fuel economy of 26mpg in the city or 33 on the highway
when outfitted with 2WD. When upgraded to AWD, the Rogue returns 25mpg city and 32mpg
on the highway. The Rogue is rated to use regular gasoline for maximum economy. The
Honda CR-V is EPA rated to 26mpg in city driving and 33mpg on the highway with 2WD. Bump to
AWD and you're looking at 25mpg city, 31mpg on the highway. Like the Rogue, the CR-V also
uses regular gasoline, saving its owners some money at every fill-up.
The base trim level Rogue includes a 5-inch color display controlling an AM/FM satellite
radio and CD player with Bluetooth phone support and streaming. With the upper level SL trip
buyers receive NissanConnect smartphone integration and communication, plus a 9-speaker Bose audio
system. All trim levels of the Honda CR-V offer technology featuring hands-free phone
support, Bluetooth streaming audio, SMS texting, and Pandora. Buyers can also choose the advanced
HondaLink system with 7-inch touch screen. HondaLink supports both Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto.
There's a good reason why more buyers choose compact SUVs over every other class of vehicle.
With the Honda CR-V and Nissan Rogue, you've got two great options to choose from. Both
offer AWD capability, thrifty fuel economy, and cargo hauling utility. You'll have to
