What'chya doing? A friend of mine is going as a little sister from Bioshock to some convention,
and wants my help making their syringe plunger thing, whatever the hell it is. Now to be
perfectly honest, I've never played a single one of the Bioshock games which I kind of
feel bad about. So I don't really have any business doing this, but it seems like a good
enough excuse as any to make a Quick and Dirty video. The extractor, for lack of a better
term, I'm sure it has a proper name in game, and again I'm sorry. She found this at a local
hardware store, which is exactly what they look like. They've got the bottle on the end
there, and they are a little bit longer in here. So I'm going to beef up this thin little
piece here, and add a long needle to it. It can't be sharp though because she's going
to be wondering around a convention. Zinc plated washer smells like death. It probably
is death. You want a hit off this? How am I supposed to make sure that stays exactly
straight? You want me to hold it? Nah. I also would have accepted I'm not. So, now that
this is all cleaned up and looking pretty. Before I go and mash it onto the end here
which is going to be a challenging, exciting task, I'm first going to grind off all this
stuff, all of this insignia. I find when you're cosplaying it's important to remove all stampage
that this was made in real life, our life. And it's important to make it look like it's
from the game, or the movie,or the show or whatever. So I'm just going to quickly remove
all this stuff. Now I'm going to try to mate this together, without breaking this casting.
TADA! This is Lindsay, she's my friend who is cosplaying as a little sister. Like I said,
I know nothing about Bioshock, so she's educated me pretty fully thus far. What I ended up
doing with is after it was all assembled, I sprayed the entire thing with hammer textured
paint, just hammer texture spray paint to get a nice even coat on it. Lindsay found
these at a local craft store. Which is almost too easy. These are submersible LED's. So,
this has been epoxied in there with goop. It screws back on the end,and the glass bottle
goes on top of that and we still have to figure out how to put a *** on it. This ***,
let's just make that clear. This one right here. That ***. For the liquid, we're using
my nephew's body wash because it's already red. So thank you for donating that, without
your knowledge. And we're going to see it it's water tight. [laughter] Ya it looks awesome.
I'm pretty sure in a minute it's going to be everywhere, but for now it looks awesome.
It smells really nice too. Let's not over thread. And here we go. K that's pretty cool. Success!
Yeah! Lindsay went to the drug store and got a bottle *** with the little threaded cap.
Because you can't thread onto a piece of glass, I just used the amazing household goop and
glued it onto the end. So we'll let that sit for like a day, and it should be affixed in
place. Then fill it back up with the body wash, screw it back on the end here, and that's
it done. Just like that. What's this thing called? Adam syringe. So yeah. Extracting
Adam. I don't know. I'm not 100% sure what the hell I'm doing, but it sure is fun.
