Hi, my name is Stephanie Guzman and this is my CSUN story.
What drew me to CSUN was the fact that there was a lot of different programs that I could go into.
I didn’t know what I wanted to study at first, so I liked that there was different areas for me to explore of study so,
that when I knew what I wanted to declare I could safely say this is what I want to study for when I’m here.
I’m a senior in the Family Consumer Sciences department emphasizing on Family Studies
and the reason I picked that major is because it was my favorite fields all combined into one, like psychology, sociology and child development.
and I felt that it would really give me a good foundation to whatever grad school program I would want to get into.
What I like most about CSUN is that there is a lot of diversity, especially within the student population
and what’s really good about it is that you can find anyone from anywhere in the world here.
There’s so much culture and it’s so rich in that that’s it just really such a great thing that you don’t find on many campuses.
My favorite place on campus I would have to say is the area by the orange grove where there’s a fountain.
It’s really just relaxing and anytime you want to get away you can always go there and just enjoy the peace that’s there.
For incoming students I would recommend that they first get a feel for the campus by looking at the different departments there are,
the different services that are being offered and also to get involved.
I think it really builds that network and that identity that you create to become a fellow CSUN matador
and you become proud of where you are, what you’re doing.
So that’s what I would say to new incoming freshman and transfer students.
