Could you like give us a minute, you're interrupting something here...
Good morning Gfs, Bfs and everyone else in between this is the second week in trans guy
week, yes it's two trans guy weeks in a row because you guys wanted it so make sure you're
clicking that like button. One thing that we learned from last week is that a lot of
trans guys wind up being stuck in the lesbian community but once they come out as a trans
guy and a man they find themselves sometimes in the straight world. And since I really
can't understand that, Ihave Val here to explain. Um uh can you give us a minute, you're kinda
interrupting something here. ...Val? You're into dudes?! Uh yea, guys girls to infinity
and beyond I think I have the most trouble relating to lesbians though, sorry. Ok, ***!
Whatever. Anyway, if you like guys, why didn't you just stay female, wouldn't that have been
easier? I mean, you could have been straight. As appealing as that sounds...my sexuality
was never really a problem. But before I came out as a man I literally could not talk to
people I was just uncomfortable with how I existed in the world. But the first time that
anyone ever came up to me and said "Hello, sir" it was like every word I had ever kept
inside me came out all at once.Identifying as a man and my decision to transition was
always so irrelevant to my sexuality. I could tell the entire story of my self discovery
and coming out as trans without mentioning my sexuality once. I like men. I always have.
But that's never given me even a little bit of comfort when it came to being a female.
Ok I think I understand what you are saying...so lets just say this hand is sexuality, this
hand is gender. Someone could be gay, they could be straight, they could be bi, they
could be pansexual, let's just do any kind of motion here. But their gender doesn't necessarily
follow does it? They're two separate things. So whether you like men, or women, or both,
it has nothing to do with identifying as a man, woman or somewhere in-between. I mean
would YOU ever become a man just so the world could see you as straight? I love being a
woman just as much as I love women. Works the same way for me. Ican't just give up being
a man for the sake of being seen as straight. And it must be really hard to find a gay man
or a straight woman to date though... Not really. I mean all of my girlfriends have
been straight, all of my boyfriends have been gay including the one that I have right now.
And I've rarely had trouble dating. What they need to figure out about their identity is
whether they are attracted to men, or ***. Because if they are attracted to men, I'm
the full package but if they only care about the d, pick your size shape and color. Or
just get over it and appreciate who I am and what I have. Ok this is not even part of the
video script, I really had no idea that so many straight men and straight women and gay
men and gay women were open to dating trans people and that doesn't mean that there's
something wrong with trans people...before you have a panic attack. It's just that I'm
very impressed with the direction society is headed. Ok so what if a straight guy or
a lesbian was into you? First I would question how accurate those labels are. But the fact
is, if someone wouldn't date who was male assigned at birth but they would still date
me...they're just not respecting my identity as a man. And I'm not into that but hey, if
another trans guy wants to hop on that who am I to judge. No I mean Isure hope so. So
basically what you're saying is that your sexuality had really nothing ever to do with
you being transgender. Exactly. In fact, let me tell you something crazy. A lot of trans
people dont even include themselves in the LGBT community. Many people question why the
t is even tacked on to that acronym in the first place. And that is how separate gender
identity and sexuality actually are. Why is the t even in the lgbt...you're gonna have
to go over to Vals channel to find out. I will see you guys back here in two days with
one more trans guy make sure you click like
and subscribe.
