This is how to refill a HP 53A/53X toner cartridge.
An original HP 53A cartridge costs $89.99. Let me show you how to refill your cartridge
and cut that cost by 85%!
This is a Toner Holemaking Tool. Use this tool to easily pierce into a cartridge without
the risk of plastic bits entering.
Step 1. Pierce two holes into the excess toner compartment.
Step 2. Empty out all the excess toner. Other instructions don’t mention this very important
step. If this compartment fills up completely with excess toner, you’ll start seeing streaks
on your print-outs.
Step 3. Seal the holes with some of the aluminum tape provided with all InkOwl toner kits.
Step 4. Pierce the toner compartment with one hole.
Here is a bottle of InkOwl’s high-quality HP Q7553 toner.
Step 5. Pour the whole bottle right into the cartridge.
Step 6. Seal the fill hole with tape.
When you refill your laser cartridge, your printer will continue to say that the toner
is low. If you want your printer to display the toner level accurately, you will need
to purchase and install a replacement chip. This is by no means necessary.
Congratulations, your cartridge is ready to be installed! You just saved yourself $80
and threw one less cartridge into the landfill.
Take a moment, think green, think refilling, think INKOWL!
