Hey, Chris with the ESET Knowledgebase here. One of the best ways to maintain the security
of your system is by performing a regular scan at least once a week.
Today I'll show you how to use the scheduler tool in your ESET product to create a new
scheduled scan.
Begin by opening your ESET product. Click Tools, Scheduler. Click Add, and select On-demand
computer scan from the Scheduled task drop-down menu and then click Next.
Select the appropriate radio button to set the frequency of the scan (I'm going to choose
weekly), and then type a name for your new task into the Task name field and click Next.
Select the day on which you want the scan to run, click Next and select Run task immediately
if the time since last execution exceeds specified interval.
This is going to ensure that the scan runs if your computer is off or otherwise unable
to perform the scan at the specified time.
Click Next and review your new task settings before clicking Finish.
You'll be prompted to select your scan targets next. We recommend that you select the check
box next to Computer to scan all system resources. Click OK once you're done and click Yes if
you're prompted by Windows.
Your new task will appear in the scheduled tasks window and will run automatically at
the next specified time.
