Hello and welcome to another social media tutorial from Room 214,
your social media agency.
What we're going to go through today is how to quickly and easily moderate the
comments that come through onto your Facebook page's wall.
So to began, you're going to want to go to one of the pages that you manage and
click "edit page."
After you've been taken to the back page, you want to make sure you're on the
"manage permissions" tab on your left.
Now if you look to your right, you'll see the "moderation blocklist."
A lot of people don't know about this yet, it's not a very publicized feature,
but it's very very useful to keep spam and other comments from flooding your wall.
So what we're going to do here is type in:
free ipod,
free i pad,
free tv,
and select a couple bits of text from some chain letters that we've seen
posted on to our page recently. Now we've got a good selection of text in keywords
that Facebook will automatically search for and filter out as comments
come into your page.
If profanity is also a problem on your page, you can click the "profanity blocklist"
and change it to either "medium" "strong."
If you take advantage of these two really easy to use features on your Facebook page, it will
really cut down on your management time and it will help you keep the spam and
inappropriate comments off of your wall.
