Hello, my name is Arielle Reid, in Budapest, Hungary, and I will explain to you today the
allies of Great Britain. So we're looking at two particular time periods. World War
one and World War two. The allies of Great Britain, or the British empire was known then
in World War one were primarily France and Russia. But as the European continent raced
to ward war, a bunch of bilateral agreements were both made and broken, and most of the
continent was polarized between the Triple Entente powers, and the Triple Alliance. That
was comprised of the Austra-Hungarian empire, and the new states of Italy and Germany. Now,
in World War two, the allies of Great Britain were the USSR, and the United States of America.
With China as the fourth policeman. Now, Great Britain, the US, and the USSR, were known
as the big three. And they were also, and their coalition was known as the Allied Forces.
Now, once again, the Allied Forces were made up of many, many more countries, but these
are the primary allies. They fought in World War two against the axis powers. So the allies
were combating axis expansion. Comprised of Germany, Japan, and Italy.
