Good morning Del Oro. I'm Travis Allgeier.
And I'm Bronte Gould. And we're your new Del Oro News anchors.
To start off this season
we did a follow up on your new year's resolutions and progress. Here's what some of you said. All right. I'm Mia and my new year's resolution is to exercise more.
And progress?
I've been doing that.
Yeah. I guess
P.E. started
I just want to surf more.
That's about it. Meeting my goal
is going to the beach more. Pretty much. Yeah.
My new year's resolution was peace on earth and good will towards man, and I'm only half way there.
I'm Shawn, and my new year's resolution
is to
focus more on homework, and I'm kind of doing better at that.
My new year's resolution is to not drink soda.
And so far we haven't drunk a drop.
My new year's resolution is to help others that seem more alone and just to reach out and be a better friend. O.K.
So how's that going for you?
Still working on it,
but I'm making friends.
O.K. So what is your new year's resolution?
My new year's resolution is to get all A' and B's for
in my classes.
And how's that working? Not so well.
O.K.
O.K. So what's your new year's resolution? To make sure I get all my homework done this term.
And how's that working? It's working really well so far.
Reporting for Del Oro News
I'm Noelle Ceane. Now back to you.
What was your new year's resolution?
To pet more cats. How's that going?
Not very well. Oh, that sucks.
Well, let's check with Kirsten Robinson who spoke to our basketball teams about their
resolutions and thoughts for this season. Hi, I'm Kristen Robinson
and I traveled around Del Oro campus today to talk to some of the Del Oro basketball coaches. I asked them about the basketball program and how it affects students here.
I also talked to them about the upcoming season and what to expect.
Well, hopefully,
first and foremost,
they're having fun playing the sport they really enjoy.
Beyond that we hope that they're learning the life lessons that sports can teach
uh... things like hard work,
responsibility, being part of a team, being a part of something bigger than oneself.
Quality teams
a lot of success on the court,
but I think most of all I expect
quality
young ladies in the classroom, outside of the classroom, on the court and just their character, their
athleticism,
they're just your all around
amazing golden eagle
that you just want to be around. All three teams are doing really well; having a really good pre-season.
You know we lost our first league game to Rocklin,
but we're looking to regroup against Granite Bay and be a really competitive league.
I think
the six man and the black hole
is super important
for all our athletic teams
especially the girls basketball team.
So you should come on out. You! Come to a game.
Well there you have it; I know I'm excited for this season.
So come out and support your Del Oro eagles.
Thanks Kristen.
I'm really excited for the upcoming games. What else is coming up?
Well, Monday the 21st is a holiday;
Martin Luther King Day. He was really cool.
But did you know he was a vegetarian? No way! Me too! Really?
No, but you know what else is cool? What?
Battle for the Veterans. Oh yeah!
There's an assembly next Friday.
Check this out.
My name is Rick Sutter I work for Battle for Veterans and I'm the director of media.
Battle for Veterans is a non-profit
group that's
trying to raise awareness for veterans
Really happy to have Del Oro involved with our upcoming honor tour
that we're
going to be holding on
January 25th
here at the school where we're inviting a number of vets
to come and to get the school involved with something that we call an honor page
which is
a way to
create a page that you can then
send out through media, social media, to friends and family to help
both raise awareness as well as raise money to
the causes that we're involved with, with Battle for Veterans.
That website, to set up that page, is on
grouprev.com/deloro,
and it should be self explanatory on how to create your own page.
If anybody finds an earring that looks like this
please turn it in to the office.
Well that's it for today guys. I'm Bronte Gould.
And I'm Travis Allgeier.
You stay golden eagles.
