Elmify made a video that this hopully is a videoresponse to where she talked about her room
She gave us the grand tour of her room. And I wanted to do something similar. BUT!
What is my room?
As long as I lived at home with my parents, "my room" was that one room where I slept, did my homework, hang out with my friends, those kind of things.
That room had lime green walls and blue details.
Now, my mom painted it beige...
I was one of the leaders of among others two girls that once visited me. They were kind of hard to get to leave,
So I started babbling, and that day I was sewing, so i was talking about the stuff that I have sewn.
I had once sewn a one piece knock off that I for some reason decided to show them.
So I said, "I'll show you that" and went into our bedroom to find it.
And they followed me....
And I found it quite awkward, 'cause as a grown up, you don't allways want people in your bedroom, right!
Ecpessially those you actually want to leave
And one of them said something like "wow your room is really tidy!"
And I though: "you just came from the living room, where all my fabrics are strewn about"
But to her, who was 15 and lived at home with her parents, the bedroom is "your room"
and your room gets cluttered, 'cause you are there a lot.
But as soon as you move out and get the bedroom as one separate room from the living room, it's not the bedroom that gets cluttered anymore. It's the living room or the kinchen or the office, or whatever.
And I can't show you my room at home, 'cause it's not my room anymore. My mom painted it _beige_!
So I want to show you the place where I spend my time, and I didn't want to show you our apartment, 'cause it's a bit boring.
SO we're here, at the sanctuary, and I'll show you around.
'Cause you have only seen the shelf and the inspirational wall...or my wall of stuff.
We'll start in the room I share with my friend Rebekka, we have a pink bean bag, a couch and a window sill where I usually place my tea cup.
And that's the door to my room.
On this wall, that we can't see right now, I've hung the painting, and a clock with buttons in stead of numbers.
In my room, we start with the wall of stuff
And this is my desk. It's got a big sheet of paper that I paint, draw and make notes on sometimes.
wow. That's a really pink chrochet in progress.
And I should probably tidy up those knitting needles, and those blue skeins of yarn could've been placed somewhere else.
Hello Green brothers!
The window sill is used as storage. and that's my easel and the knitting machine as well.
These boxes and bags are right here, 'cause there's not enough room in the shelf for all my stuff.
And you've seen the shelf a lot.
but...fabrics...and the sewing machines are on the bottom.
And that...that's not quite finnished yet.
this is the iron and the ironing board, 'cause you need those kind of things.
And on this wall, I've hung the pictures from my finals exhibit when i studied arts and crafts.
That's a painting in progress, placed in a bag of more canvases.
And this is the idea board, don't look too closely on that, please
And that concludes the tour, 'cause that's the shared room again.
So yeah, that's the sanctuary. This is where I spend as muchtime as possible.
Because my head keeps nice and tidy if I am able to stay here and be creeative as much as possible.
The sanctuary might not be my room in the traditional sence, but it's my sanctuary!
When I lived at home with my parents, my room was my sanctuary.
And when I moved out, I needed a new sanctuary.
And since our appartment is quite small, and I actually wanted to be somewhere else to be creative, I found someplace else.
And I'm really happy about that. In two hours I get lots more done here, than I would have at home.
The fact that all my fabrics and materials ond stuff would have taken up lots of space in our really small appartment, is an other issue entirely.
OK, it's not that small, we've got two bedrooms after all...
OK, so I know I said that I didn't know whether I'd open an etsy store, but now I did.
The etsy store have got the same products, with the same prices as on epla.no
But the shipping costs are calculated a bit better, and I'm using paypal.
The etsy store have allso got it's own page on facebook.
Where I post pictures of the products with link to the product page on etsy, and hopefully allso updates on what's happening.
Well, yes. Anne out!
