- Hey, friends, it's been a long time, almost a year,
and I'm not gonna make excuses,
we're just not gonna to that.
Instead, we're gonna jump into it,
because I'm finally back with another hair how-to,
and this is a Janelle-inspired, pompadour look
that I've done many a time before,
but, this time it's a little bit different
because I have a two-strand twist in my hair.
If you don't know how to do a two-strand twist,
I will link to the video where
I first did a tutorial for them.
They're super easy and the thing that's so great about them
is you can do any basic style and it ends up looking
super complicated and really intricate, and it's not,
just the twists make everything look better.
But you know what's really great about this style is,
like many of my hair styles, you don't need locks
to do this, you can use braids, or two-strand twists
to do this style, and it works for lots of lengths of hair.
I recently cut my hair, but with the two-strand twist,
it's about here, hereish I guess.
So, I recently wore my hair like this to the Shorty Awards,
and I got so many comments on it and so many people
begging for a tutorial that I thought,
why not come back and show you how to do this
super easy and funky, elegant style.
So, let's go ahead and get started.

So, to start my hair is in two-stranded twists.
If you don't know how to do these,
you can check the video description box,
but your hair does not have to be
in two-stranded twists for this style.
To start, I'm gonna push my locks to the front of my head,
and I'm gonna take one twist at the base of my neck,
right in the center, and I'm going to pick up
some locks next to it and start twisting towards the right.
Now, you can do this to the right or the left,
I usually twist to the right cause I'm right handed,
but similar to a French Braid or a French Roll,
you're just gonna pick up locks as you go,
as you twist that one main piece along your head,
so it travels, so you don't have any pieces hanging out.
Now, once you get to your forehead,
you're gonna continue twisting towards the right,
and, in order to make that piece nice and smooth
so there's not any pieces hanging out,
I like to take one of the longer twists or locks
and wrap it around that large piece.
And, then, once I get to the very end,
I pick up another long lock and wrap around.
This is very similar to what you
do when you make a barrel roll.
So, you're gonna keep twisting those locks
all the way down to the end, and secure with a hair tie.
Then you're gonna take big, long unicorn piece
and twist it into a cinnamon bun on
the right side of your head, and secure with straight pins.
Now, there's no science to how to secure,
you just want to make sure that it's not flopping around,
and, most importantly, that it's comfortable.

Ta-da!
So, as you can see, pretty simple,
and I just did this in one shot.
I generally like it to be a little smoother
up in this region, but, you get the main idea.
If you try out this style, I want to see it on Instagram.
Use the hashtag Chescaslocstars so that I can find you.
Don't add me to the picture, just use the hashtag.
I will be looking because I just
might bring back Chescaslocstars.
So, check the video description box
for links to all my social media.
You can find me all over the internet.
Don't forget to subscribe and I will see you when I see you.
Mmm, bye.
