You have to stay on the road, that's the first thing. To get a good time, you have to push.
We must win the electric division. I must go to the finish. This is my challenge. I
want to be driving down the hill and collecting the gold, myself. I like to say, "this is
where man can come to conquer their fear." We took off and pretty much the entire road
was wet. We had one little spot where it wasn't but for the most part it was a balancing act
between sliding off the road and off the side and try to carry a lot of speed. That's just
how it works here sometimes. I was quickest every single session, I thought I had it.
I had a beautiful car that Mitsubishi provided me with. Thank God we had all-wheel-drive
and Dunlop wet tires, but it wasn't enough. My section was just too wet. We ended up in
third. Feel great about that. Really looking forward to next year and I just hope I get
the opportunity again because these cars work so well and I really think at some point we
can definitely get the overall. So when we went out for our run today, unfortunately
the weather didn't cooperate with us and the pavement basically started to get wet. It
was certainly treacherous conditions for us for us to drive. Times was somewhat dissapointing
as we thought we had a very strong car all weekend. That's part of racing, we see that
luck wasn't on our side this year, but hopefully we can come back again next year to challenge
for the overall win.
