bjbjD Hi! This is DFH with Ruthie Oberg. On July 29, 1981 crowds of 600,000 people filled
the streets of London to catch a glimpse of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer on their
wedding day. The couple were married at St Paul's Cathedral and it was called the wedding
of the century. In less than a year the couple produced their first son and in two more years
a second son was born. The fairy tale seemed complete .but like all fairy tales reality
comes into play at some point. During all of this time, Prince Charles long standing
relationship with Camilla Parker-Bowles was putting strain on his marriage and the beautiful
Princess of Wales was struggling to keep up the image of fairy tale perfection. She developed
emotional disorders and the couple separated in 1993. Diana spoke publicly about her problems
and her own and her husband's infidelities and the media coverage that followed their
lives became an absolute circus. The marriage formally ended with a decree absolute in August
1996 and just one year later Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris at the young age of
36. After her death, Queen Elizabeth said there are lessons to be drawn from Diana s
life. Yes, there were many. And one of the most important is to realize that wealth,
beauty, and fame can never provide peace and joy. Beautiful people can be insecure, wealthy
people unfulfilled and many famous people spend their lives utterly alone. In the Bible,
Solomon tells us that all these things are vanity and that we should seek wisdom above
the fleeting pleasures of this world. Glitz and glamour are the things of fairy tales,
But peace and joy can be found in simple realities of life family, friends, and faith. This is
