Hi Everybody,
In this video I am going to show you how to use DCR. DCR Means dyeing calculation record.
It’s a software.
So now the question comes in mind why we need a software what problem it solves.
Carpet designer uses adobe Photoshop, illustrator, Corel draw or many more software to make the
carpet design. Sometimes they even receive images from their customers to develop a carpet.
These types of images can have millions of colors and we need to extract primary color
information out of these millions of color because it is not practically possible to
dye a carpet in millions of colors.
So my dear friends let’s see how DCR can help us in achieving these primary colors
out of millions of colors.
Everything is this software is starts with an image. So we need to select a design like
click on the browse and we can select an image.
So we have this design 5C it’s a PNG image you can see its size is 182 kb.
So go ahead and select it. Here we can see some basic information
what is file like its name
its resolution image size
and unique colors.
Here as you can see this image has around two thousand nine hundred and fifty eight
colors. So for dyeing this carpet it is not practically possible to dye in so many colors.
And visibly if we see we have only five colors in this image.
So purpose of this dyeing software is to extract original five colors out of these two thousand
nine hundred and fifty eight colors.
So let’s proceed. Now click on agree and proceed.
So this is the main area of working.
Here you can see we can define expected colors like we need to provide how many colors we
do expect out of this image than we can recalculate the colors
we can merge the colors and we can finally produce the DCR - Dyeing Calculation Record.
From this image from the previous calculation it generates 8 colors. Here you can see the
colors and their area also.
If you take mouse over we can see the RGB values of different colors.
So in this situation the Merge colors come into picture. So let’s go ahead with the
merge color.
So we have the eight colors and just sort in on the basis of colors. Here you can see.
If we see both these colors like this is 121, this is 122, this is 1 this is 1 here you
can see area this color contains area 21.3654 and this is 0.7 so this is negligible in respect
of this.
So on this case we can merge both these colors but always keep in mind when you are merging
two colors take first select the color which has maximum area. Now when we merge both colors
you will see it will take the first color and sum of the area of both.
So this is how merge color works.
Same way we can see like these are two colors color # 6 and color # 1 this is 1.3 and this
is 29 so we merge this also. So now we have six colors in the same way these two colors
can also be merged right.
So now we have finally 5 colors. So here we can see the original image colors calculated
8 and merge colors which are 5. So now with this color information we have color information
and area information. Now go ahead for that dyeing calculation record.
Here we need to fill the required information. Customer initials
take today design #
we will keep the same form no
this is carpet size actually this carpet size just for the printing purposes. Now we are
not using it for any calculation or anything so just give what you want to print in this
place. Trace size is the actual length of the carpet
on which whole the calculation will govern. So here I gave the length is 1 and the width
is 1.5. So it calculates like the area of this trace size of 1.5 square meters and now
we need to provide quality. Quality in kg if I say 2 is the quality then
weight comes out to 3 and here you can see consumption percentage and weight of each
color required than print this calculation.
We have two options either we can get excel of it or PDF so let’s first, this is PDF.
Here you see all the information and you can email this to your dyeing department.
In the same way we can get the excel. All the information in the excel format with the
image.
Now you can click here and go for the next image so the whole process can be started
again.
Thanks for watching.
Happy dyeing!!
