Hello YouTube today in this video I will go through my top picks from the opening of CES
2014 which is currently being held in Las Vegas, NV. For all of you that don't know
what CES stands for it is the Consumer Electronics Show. Basically all the big tech companies
meant up in one place and showcase their technology for the up and coming year and what they think
will be big in years to come. So we will jump right into this and we will see you on the other side
Okay so my first big one to come out of CES this year is that Samsung demos a Bendable
TV that can change from flat to curved. The 85-inch bendable screen is a conventional
flat panel Ultra HD television which goes from curved to flat and back again. Why? Well,
good question! I would want to know the answer to that as well. I really don't see the point
in curved screens especially for TVs. I do for mobile phones etc.. as they can be set
to be curved to match the curvature of your leg so as it doesn't cause damage to your
phone when in your pocket. In the other hand Samsung has managed to make a 85-inch screen
bendable. This is a small term is kind of mind blowing, if they can make a 85-inch screen
bend, what else can they do? Question is would you buy one?
On then to my second thing to come out of CES 2014. That is Netflix are to stream 4K
to LGs TVs in 2014. 4K content will be available to LG's Blu-ray player before coming to its
UHD TVs. This is good to see, how ever at the high content which is put into 4K will
our broadband in the UK be able to cope? Now I know one of the main ISPs here can give
you speeds around 70/80mb download but most people in the UK only have a download around
8mb. Plus how many of you actually have a 4K TV? I don't for sure!
Something which I know is going to be big in 2014 is Chromebooks. You can just tell
now that Google has finally getting around to knowing how to make them work properly.
Well CES didn't disappoint and with Toshiba now announcing a new Chromebook it looks rather
interesting. So what's the specs? Well here you go - Toshiba's Chromebook will feature
a 1366 x 768 display and weigh 3.3 pounds. The machine retail at $279 (£170) with an
Intel Haswell processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Toshiba also claims its Chromebook
battery is able to last a maximum of nine hours. The device will go on sale from February
16. I done a review on the HP Chromebook 14 not that long ago on here which we paid £250
for, there's a link down below and that small red box floating about somewhere will take
you to the review on the Chromebook 14.
If you stuck around then happy days, CES has only started and since this Video has been
uploaded a lot more content has came out. I will upload another video as soon as more
content is released online from the bloggers over there working hard. Hats off to them.
Please subscribe to my channel to help me out and I will keep you updated on CES. Until
the next time, thanks for watching!
