>>The Foster Youth Education Fund annually puts on this fashion show to benefit those
students who need extra financial help and support.

>>Thank you for the support, hopefully we can do this again next year.

>>As fosters kids we are really independent, we don’t like asking for help, I still struggle
with that, because that’s all we have is ourselves. That’s the whole meaning of doing
stuff like this is to let us know that we don’t always have to depend upon ourselves
there are people out there who can help us out, we just need to learn how to ask for
help. [Music]
>>The Guardian Scholars Program has helped me out a lot financially and academically
and even personally, if I need to talk to anyone in the program they are always there
to help me with anything. Without the Guardian Scholars Program I don’t think I would be
at Sac State. I want to thank the program director and everyone else that’s in the
program. >>I’m just very thankful that I can be in
this program. Being a foster youth before there are a lot of hardships from it but they
are providing right after and it’s amazing having this program at Sac State.
>>Thank you for just being amazing and for being here in general. The fact that they
are able to support foster youth through the Foster Youth Education Fund and Guarding Scholars,
they are giving a student, a foster youth a chance to actually make something of themselves
and to have an idea that they can make it in society even through their family wasn’t
there for them, you are giving them that guiding light to move on down that road and make something
of themselves. And without you guys we wouldn’t have the chance at all.
