Hey guys. We're here today learning how to play some fun new improv warm-ups for your
improv team, and the next warm-up we're going to walk you through is a warm-up called Silly
Stretching. Now to play Silly Stretching, you're going to get all of your improvisers
to stand in a giant circle. You want everyone to have a lot of room because people are going
to be stretching out. And you're going to start by leading the group through a series
of stretching out normal muscles that you would regularly stretch: your back, your arms,
your legs. You're going to lead everybody in a couple regular stretches. Then you're
going to ask them to stretch out body parts that are not normally stretched. Like, your
eyeballs, your eyelids, your fingernails. Anything crazy and silly like that, and your
actors are then going to have to emulate what it would like or feel like to stretch those
body parts. So Dan and I are going to go ahead and demonstrate for you. And so, I'm going
to call out the stretches, too, and we'll pretend like we're in a giant circle. So first,
Dan, let's stretch out our right arm above our head. That's a stretch, good. Alright,
now let's stretch our backs by touching our toes. Good, good. I can't reach. Alright,
Dan, now let's stretch our lower left earlobe. Okay. Let's get it good and stretched out.
Alright now let's go ahead and stretch our, let's go ahead and stretch our upper foreheads.
Alrighty? Oh, there it is, there it is, there it is. And that's how you play Silly Stretching.
