In this video, I'm going to be showing you just a beginning way to how to feel the crossfader.
How to treat it with your hands, and how to think of it like an instrument. So here, on
the record, I have a very long sound, actually a repetitive sound cued up. (Plays) So it's
a little bit irritating, but it's non-stop. So get your hand on the crossfader, stay nice
and relaxed, turn on the sound, and just start turning on and off the crossfader. And make
sure you stay relaxed, don't worry about time, don't worry about what it sounds like, but
just start...start forcing...fooling around with the crossfader. How it sounds when it's
on and off, and how you feel. Here I use mostly my thumb and my fingers, but you can use any
way you like. Just start horsing around with it, and do whatever feels comfortable to you.
In the future, we're going to start thinking about how it actually sounds in different
combinations with the crossfader to use.
