In my opinion, the CIRSE vascular programme is one of the best among all European meetings
at the moment. CIRSE makes every effort to attract the best speakers, and this year CIRSE
has achieved that in every respect.
Looking at the transcatheter embolization track, CIRSE really is at the forefront of
science in this field, and what is regular practice at the moment.
Interventional oncology is becoming one of the most important parts of the programme.
The hot topic this year will cover multidisciplinary teamwork to help patients.
This year the hot topic in neuro interventions is acute stroke treatment, and I think that's
a very good choice, because at the moment it's very topical in the medical field.
Besides the classical vascular interventions, the non-vascular is becoming a bigger part
of the practice of interventional radiology in Europe. CIRSE makes sure that interventional
radiologists can learn about this at the meeting.
The IR management track has got an excellent range of topics. It's a very important topic,
as it's not just dwelling on the technical procedures that we perform in interventional
radiology, but the patient management before and after the treatment of patients.
I'm always surprised by what is offered at CIRSE, to know there will be new formats and
see that there are lots of things that I can discover, and I hope that CIRSE continues
to surprise me in the future.
