hey there coach Todd want to check out this analysis
of our Manny Machado and his swing here..a couple things I want you notice in this
%uh stop action right here
this right here's the ball you here's the path for the ball coming in
here's Machado in this stop action photo on a swing he's transfers weigh in
front side and he's rotating around now
the bats right here you can kind of see the silhouette of it as it's moving but is
getting the back behind the ball
on the plane is not meeting the ball out here
on plane he's getting behind it back here see see this all about right here
okay alright now
the next photo you it's very hard to see the bat actually at this point
you can see a little bit of the silhouette above the
our path of it as it gets round here you gonna be able to see it
I would keep computer animation here so i cant but also use the path of
the ball so we got the bat
behind the ball and on the plane
okay the next K
again all right now here's some computer computer animation showing you
the length of the bat and then the end of it and a and then the path about
through to contact, you see
at contact he's square okay and then the next frame through
again right there
you see you can see the path now the ball now is starting to go out
okay but you can still see the path of the ball is coming in
and you can see the silhouette of the bat right here okay so he's come through contact
on plane
and he's gonna and he's continued with the sweet spot of the bat
as he's going to begin his extension he's continued the path for the bat
on that same plane okay and so you see the path
here's the computer animation of the path of the bat there
and now we move on
as he starts to extend now and you see the ball going out on the path pretty
much it came on so he was right on it and you can see the silhouette of the bat continuing
down the plane the the line at the path for the ball they had that was on its
way through here
K and then their shows that last path right there
what does that look like to you does that look like a down
and up in finish high does that look like the swing plane that so many
coaches talk about
down to the ball and intersect and then finish high
or does that look like this?
that's what the big leaguers do there's the computer
animation on it and by the way I didn't come up with this myself
this was Harold Reynolds analysis in computer animation
that's how it is
that's the truth right there you can't deny what you see
