As we move forward, we remove barriers... and create a world... open to expression,
free from inhibition.
in 1869, we broke the barrier of gender, and gave women equal voting rights as men.
in 1989, the berlin wall came down; and friends were reunited.
in 1961, we flew past the barrier of our atmosphere, to discover new worlds.
in 1968, we tore down limitations brought about by skin color; allowing humans to live
like... humans.
True progress knows no barriers; it breaks all walls, limitations, and inhibitions.
But, in what year will we break the biggest barrier of all?
The barrier we've clung to for over 2000 years? The barrier that polarizes the world.
The barrier that tells those with opposing views, they're destined to eternal suffering.
This barrier is religion, and it divides our world.
We don't need to console in a book or chanting of a prayer, to know where the world'll be
after we die, or how to treat others with respect and dignity.
In a world without barriers, all we need to know is that we've left the
world in motion... destined to better places.
As for me? I don't need to know where i'll be; that's
insignificant. There's no sense in living, thinking there's
a second chance; or some life in the clouds. My life in the clouds is right here, right
now: every day that i'm alive. And I can't imagine anything better.
And if I am a good person, I will live on, in a very special sense.
in a place far more ethereal to me than the heavens:
i will live on in the hearts of those I love, and that's all that matters.
I'm not afraid.
