Hi, I'm Stephen Monet, Manager of Environmental Planning Initiatives
with the City of Greater Sudbury and, this is EarthCare Minute.
A healthy forest contains more than just trees. It's home to some of our smallest
neighbors.
Help keep track of these creatures this summer by participating in the City's
Whippoorwill and FrogFind
Surveys. Whippoorwills loudly repeat their names starting about 30 minutes
after sunset.
They're most vocal during clear nights in June when the moon is at least half full.
Frogs and toads are active all summer in Greater Sudbury.
Eight different species are known to live here. Help identify these species
and where they're locally found by becoming a frog finder. Visit the City's
Biodiversity Website to learn what to watch for.
FrogFind and Whippoorwill survey results can also be reported on this website.
Call 311
