My name is Xaver Willebrand and I've founded IMAscore
together with friends in 2009.
IMAscore produces music of many different styles
and sounds. Actually we're offering the whole spectrum of audio services.
We can produce music for a rollercoaster as well for a TV commercial.
We've played in a band together, made music together
and noticed at some point,
that we could do that professionally and
try to earn money with that.
Luckily it worked out!
We're other than other companies, because we're not anxious of being a niche supplier.
We're not scared of
working for theme parks, an industry, for which composers
are just very little working for because hardly anyone thinks about that.
Of course the order situation was frightening in the beginning.
We did walks, thinking about
how we could manage the unpaid invoices,
how we could survive
with 300 Euro not paid yet.
Our first big success was producing music for
a TV commercial of Ravensburger.
Suddenly other companies accepted us.
It was like: You've worked for Ravensburger,
so you could also work for us.
Our company's philosophy is some sort of unique,
because most of the composers are lone fighters, while we work as a team
and want to establish the IMAscore sound.
What is great about being self-employed is,
that you can control your fate and I like it to
try different things, try new things and develop new ideas also within the company.
That's what's great about it, what makes it exciting.
We'd like to work more internationally in the future.
We see a market in the United States and also much potential in Asia.
We think about Europe as a good start and are very happy about that,
but we think there's more possible.
