Hi. My name is Genelle Taylor and I'm the associate director here at the Lyles Center
for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I have been with the Lyles Center on campus for just
over 14 years. Before working here at the Lyles Center, I was also a student at Fresno
State and got my degree here in business. I've been working in the field of entrepreneurship
for many, many years, and just love everything entrepreneurial, and I am an entrepreneur
myself. Here at the Lyles Center, what we do is focus
on entrepreneurship education as well as helping anybody that has a business idea or a business
themselves that wants to grow that as well. So we work with kids from preschool all the
way through elementary school, middle school, high school. We have community college partners
as well in the Valley. We are regional model for that. We call it our entrepreneur pathway
and do consulting work across the U.S., as well as internationally, on what we have built
here. Some of the things I like to do ... is having
my own business, which is called Blown Away. It's in the shops at River Park. We are just
two doors down from the Yard House. What that business is, is a style-only. So it's the
first blow dry bar in the Valley, which I'm really very proud of.
I juggle my career here at Fresno State as well as owning my own business, but I also
have a family. I've been married for nine years and we have two beautiful children,
ages four and seven. Ava is my four-year-old who loves to dance and do gymnastics. Aiden
is my seven-year-old who loves golfing and has lessons in that as well, as well as playing
basketball, just in our front yard, though. I am a member of the Staff Assembly Executive
Committee, so hopefully on Red Fridays I can catch you in the USU as well, or at any Bulldog
game, because I love rooting for the Bulldogs and my alma mater
