My name is Dr. Lance C. Perez.
I’m an associate professor in the department of electrical engineering
and I’m also associate vice chancellor for academic affairs.
[This is just a prototype for diagnostic purposes.]
As a faculty member I’m engaged in the teaching and research missions of the university.
So I teach wireless communications courses and I have a research program that involves
wireless communications, imaging for surgical robots and engineering education.
I wanted to go to a state university that was comprehensive and research intensive and
that had a great work environment, high quality faculty and high quality students.
And the University of Nebraska has all that.
[Left and right image and then the stereoscopic image.]
It’s a very high quality of both personal and professional life.
The university is very supportive of both faculty and students, of both the teaching
and research missions of the university.
And they allow you to excel at the national and international level while maintaining
a high quality of life.
University of Nebraska is committed to dual career couples and finding meaningful employment
for both members of that couple so that they can both pursue their professional careers.
And we work both within the university and with the community to find good positions
for our dual career couples.
I’ve stayed here because the university has been very supportive of all my professional
efforts.
And my family has found a home in the Lincoln community.
