PeopleSoft ePerformance 9.2 offers exciting enhancements that are focused on providing a simple, easy to use and comprehensive
performance solution.
When it’s time for you to complete an appraisal, you can access your direct reports’ current performance documents. You can easily see the
current status of the documents and what’s due next.
The filter criteria section gives you an easy way to find performance documents. You can filter documents by employee name, document type,
document status, or by performance period.
The Performance WorkCenter lets you view performance documents in an easy to use, flexible and configurable page. You can define
performance goals and objectives – you can also rate and comment on each goal.
All of the steps in the performance process are outlined on the left side of the page. Your administrators can configure these steps. Each
step indicates the due date for the task.
When you open a performance document, icons to the left of each step or task provide a visual alert so that you know exactly where you are in
the performance process.
Your administrator can configure up to eleven separate mid-period checkpoints in a performance document – these are listed as
separate steps. A mid-period checkpoint lets managers and employees comment on their goals and objectives – and share them to initiate
discussions and complete any checkpoints.
Collapse the Steps and Tasks pane to get a larger view of the performance document.
The information and relevant actions in the header region at the top of the page
are always available as you scroll through the performance document.
Your administrators can configure the employee information shown in the document.
Placing your mouse on an employee name opens a pop-up window showing the employee’s photo and profile information– giving you access
to important information without navigating away from your current tasks.
Clicking the related actions glyph next to the employee’s name lets you view and initiate any action related to the employee. These are
limited to actions that you are authorized to complete for a particular employee. When you select an action, the system navigates away
from the performance WorkCenter and initiates the action.
Your administrator can configure the way the system displays each section of the document - as tabs or as a single scrollable document. In
addition, your administrator can enable you to toggle between the tabbed and non-tabbed format.
The page shown here displays each section in a separate tab to simplify your navigation through the document.
By default, all of the goals appear collapsed. You can expand or collapse them individually or all at once to view the description and comments.
You can perform multiple actions for each goal in the performance document – you can copy the goal to another document, view or add
performance notes, edit goal details, or remove the goal.
The Manager Comments section lets you add comments in relation to the goal – they can be saved and shared with the employee. You can
view mid-period checkpoint comments at later stages in the performance process.
The spellchecker lets you spell-check your comments.
Using the ‘Add Item’ link, you can add more goals from a selection of pre-defined goals, create an adhoc goal, or copy a goal
from your own performance document. This gives you an easy way to ensure that the employee’s goals
reflect the goals and objectives of your organization.
Fill in the details for a new goal by entering a title, along with a description, status, and due date.
As priorities and projects vary throughout the performance period, this enables you to keep the goals for each employee up to date.
New goals appear in the performance document with all of the existing goals.
Clicking the Competencies tab enables you to view competencies, add new ones, and expand them to add comments.
The overall results tab lets you enter overall summary comments in the performance document.
You can save your performance document – and your current progress – using the ‘Save’ button. For mid-period checkpoints, you have the option
to skip checkpoints entirely. The ‘Share with Employee’ button saves your comments and lets your employees see the comments in their
Performance WorkCenter.
The system shows you the updated progress for this performance document in the Steps and Tasks pane.
You can also see the next step in the appraisal process.
In addition to the Performance WorkCenter, ePerformance 9.2 integrates with Outlook. By enabling the PeopleSoft plug-in within Outlook,
you can associate e-mails with employees and save those emails as performance notes.
This means that you can save performance notes any time of the year and then retrieve them during performance appraisals. So you
don’t have to remember and search for emails during appraisals. In our example, a manager created a performance note for Daryl Reese from
an email received in Outlook.
PeopleSoft ePerformance 9.2 focuses on streamlining your business processes, and keeping your users engaged, enabling you to
complete performance appraisals and tasks quickly and efficiently.
