Welcome to another addition of fishbat Splash with your hosts Scotty D and Gabby G, where
we bring you the world of digital news in one minute or more. For all you football fanatics;
“Big Game”s here! Relax Scotty, aside from the game I’m sure you’re all anticipating
some killer ads, but having a good ad isn’t going to guarantee you record sales and maximum
outreach. At fishbat of course we know the best way to virally promote your ads or product
is social media and when it comes to social media during “the Big Game” beer brand
Bud Light says it’s planning to be on top of its game. Lucas Herscovici, Vice President
of Digital at Anheuser Busch said that the Bud Light brand saw increases in its fans,
media views, and levels of engagement during last year’s “Big Game” just from vigorously
promoting ads on Twitter and Facebook. But, Bud Light will be turning it up a notch this
year by turning out not one, but two TV ads and hosting its own “Big Game” event at
a custom designed 200 room hotel in New Orleans. It’s going to be opening its doors on January
31st. The Bud Light hotel will hold concerts from pop artists like Flo Rida, Pitbull, and
even Stevie Wonder. All performances will be broadcast on the Bud Light MySpace page.
Yes, MySpace is relevant again. Bud Light also plans to flood Facebook and Twitter as
well. Now, the brand currently has a contest on its Facebook page in which the winner earns
a spot as the official Bud Light Facebook correspondent. Seems like a great way to get
a little tipsy and mingle with some partying celebrities. Now, that’s a job I would love
to have. Kudos to Bud Light for using social media to give live snippets of exclusive content;
what a great marketing tool. Now, Bud Light will also be live Tweeting and asking fans
to use hashtags such as #HereWeGo and #TasteIs to join the Bud Light conversation during
the game. Unfortunately, Tweeting #HereWeGo won’t summon that cute little dog to bring
you beer from the fridge, but it will let you engage with the brand and let them see
what you have to say. That’s all that we have for today, if you’d like more news
on the story or additional stories, please visit our website at fishbat.com, or feel
free to Tweet at us @fishbatsplash. Thank you for watching, catch you on the next wave!
Gimme that ball back. Hoowa
