Go to the address tri-c.mylabsplus.com. This is our normal web address that we will goto
to begin work in the course. The next step is to login using your S number for both your
username and your password. So, your Tri-C S number is a capital S followed by 8 digits
and again you should use that for both your username and your password.
At this point, you are given the chance to enter some security questions in case in the
future you might forget your password. Please take your time in selecting these questions
and remembering them so that if you do lose your password, it can be retrieved. You also
have the choice of skipping this step and coming back next time to fill them in. It
will continue to remind you of this step each time you login until you complete it. I am
going to go ahead and skip this step. The next page that you come to is your home
page for my labs plus and it should list any courses for the term that you have that semester
in which we have our math class together, so I am going to go ahead and click that to
get to the course site. So, again I wanted to give each of you an
opportunity to start the course without having to pay up front. In order to do that, you
are going to first need to accept the privacy agreement and statements here. Next, we are
going to want to try and provide an access code but again, you don't need to purchase
that on day one. There is a temporary access link here that will feed you a code that you
can use to plug in here. So, the steps that it is going to take is first of all going
to Temporary Access to retrieve the code and then we are going to have to come to this
screen to be able to enter it. So, I would ask that you copy and paste, first
copy (control C), and then we are going to paste that code into that field from before
where it was requesting an access code from us. In order to do that, we are going to have
to click on something in the course. I think the easiest way to do that is to click Start
Homework, and go into Chapter 1 and click on Section 1.1, and then click on Assigned
Homework and you'll see that it will not allow you to access until you have entered your
code. So, I am going to click that access code button and then switch to a single box
so that I can paste in the code that I had copied. Clicking next will allow us to be
enrolled in the course in a temporary way. So, there is a 21 day period of time that
the access code is good for; however, that is going to start on January 6th which means
that the code will expire on January 27th. Depending on what day that you are able to
accomplish this, realize that your time has started on January 6th. When it comes to January
27th, you will have to then purchase an access code to the online Pearson site or you may
obtain one at a bookstore at Tri-C or Amazon. There is more information about that on the
home page. So, I am going to return to my e-course now to get started working on materials.
Clicking on the Course Home and viewing All Announcements then will give you more information
about how to get started. Thank you.
