According to my uncle,
when he asked his grandparents 'Why am I caaled Japan?'
They said 'Well, it's because some Japanese settled down here in Coria...'
The Japanese have always had a reputation for being great fishermen,
and here in Coria we have the Gualdalquivir, fishing...
So I don't think it would be very difficult for them to adapt
to the climate and everything.
And so as a result of this whole exciting story
there are lots os Japans in Coria; about 700 Japans.
For me it is very important to know
my family names, where they come from, in this case from Japan;
It's very important to know that we really come from there,
that my ancestors came from there, more specifically from Sendai.
Apart from the commercial and religious reasons,
the main thing for meis the legacy they left with the name Japan, 16 00:02:28,000 --> 00:02:32,800 and then the cultural exchange, that seems to me even more important than the other.
It has opened a bridge between Japan and Coria that is huge,
and more and more people are crossing over the bridge.
