Now I am going to demonstrate how to make the reversible fleece poncho, completely without
sewing. I have two yards of the fleece fabric. Now the fleece fabric comes in sixty inch
widths and we want to have a yard square, a thirty-six inch square. So I will show you
how to cut the square. First you want to take off the salvage edge; that is the finished
edge, it is a little bit curled. You want a cut edge, because you want a cut edge all
the way around the poncho. So we are going to remove that salvage edge, and you just
cut along as straight as you can and remove that salvage edge. Okay, and we will cute
off that salvage edge. Now, you want to find your corner. This is your thirty-six inches
of fabric. And we are going to take this corner and bring it, bring the two edges right along
each other. Fold them like this, all the way down the edge so that you have a triangle.
Now you see that I have a very large triangle that is folded at the corner and the edge
matches together, edge to edge all the way over. And I have, my final cut is here. I
am going to cut along this edge and that will give me a thirty-six inch square piece of
fabric. Okay, so I will cut right along this edge and that will give us our thirty-six
inch square of fabric.
And then you want to repeat it with your second color. You want to choose a nice contrast,
something that will look pretty together. I am using a dark purple and a light purple.
