Tony Banks: Getting to and from campus will get easier soon once the highway closures
that began two years ago finally re-open soon.
The Spring Street I-71 exit to the back of campus is set to open in November. Around
the same time, leaving campus will be easier once the entrance to I-71 and I-670 at Cleveland
Avenue also open.
On campus, parking remains tight during peak times between 10 and 2. While the front 11-S
lot next to Nestor Hall fills quickly, there are one-thousand more spaces in the parking
garage plus hundreds more in the lots behind the garage.Once those fill, there are still
tons of options - but they're a few blocks away. That's why it's important to arrive
early from 10 until 2.
Our online parking maps feature all lots. Take a look at the ones here in red. Those
are all student lots -- and they have an "S" with the number. You may have to go across
Cleveland Avenue to find parking if you arrive during the peak times. That's where our largest
lot -- 28-S - is located. It's also the furthest out -- several blocks down Mt. Vernon Avenue.
While you'll have about an eight minute walk to campus, it doesn't fill up so there's always
a space there.

providing real-time parking updates on the first two days of classes each semester.
