The Maori All Blacks left London on a high
after their win against Canada.
Our correspondent, Heta Gardiner spoke to them about their tour
before they headed home.
Despite a last bite from the chilly London weather,
the Maori team departs with warm feelings.
It was a tour of two halves for the Maori All Blacks.
They lost their first game to the Leicester Tigers,
but came back strong in their next two matches,
the latter a victory against Canada.
The team now sets its sights on a prosperous future.
One of the senior players had another ambition in mind.
In the past, the Maori team have
bested Argentina, Scotland, Fiji,
Tonga, Samoa, America and Canada,
all of whom participated in last year's Rugby World Cup.
In 2010, the Maori side took down England and Ireland,
two teams that made the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
So what about the Maori team?
The team has been away from their families for two weeks.
Most are happy to be going home.
But in the backs of their minds,
many are hoping for the chance to return.
But the captain's focus for now
is trying to remind his younger players of their place -
as bag carriers for the veterans.
Perhaps something for their next tour.
