Sandi McKenna: I'm Sandi McKenna with the Midlife
Road Trip. I'm Sandi McKenna with the Midlife Road Trip -- and we're at
--what was I saying? [laughs]
[intro music]
Woman: It's triple espresso gelato.
Sandi: Oh -- I'm going to have one.
[music]
Sandi: One of the things we do is -- we travel around and live out our
bucket list.
Rocco: Do I need a bucket list already?
Sandi: Yeah.
Rocco: I was kind of hoping to not worry about the bucket list for a
few years.
[laughter]
Rocco: I'd like to do more things I guess. Mountain climbing Mount
Everest. Dancing nude, no I already did that.
Sandi: What inspires you?
Rocco: I'm inspired by food, by ingredients.
I look at a pear, a piece of kale, a carrot, and ideas pop into my
head.
[music]
Woman: . . . Beside being a great designer, he's a great person.
Sandi: Now I love your new cookbook.
Rocco: Thank you.
Sandi: Tell me about that, because I love comfort food, and now I can

I started training for triathlons, and I was eating all the food I've
always loved. Just making it a little different each time.
Little by little I started to see that I could eat pizza, brownies,
fried chicken, mac 'n' cheese -- but a healthy version of each, it was a
bit of a meal makeover.
Rick Griffin: [inaudible 00:01:54]
Rocco: Rick -- let me tell you this, when you cook for a girl, all
you have to do is cook for a girl -- it doesn't matter what you make. The
simple act of cooking for them is very sexy and girls fall for it pretty
easily.
Now one thing that you can make that is a pretty sexy meal is a
boiled lobster. First of all it's super easy to make, it's very difficult
to mess up, and you have to break it away with your hands and dip it into
butter. It's very tactile, very romantic.
[music]
Rick: We were talking about how much garlic to use . . .
