A 29-year-old man remains behind bars in the Czech Republic Sunday. He was allegedly planning
an attack similar to the one carried out by Anders Breivik last year. Here’s the BBC.
“He was arrested last week. Police raided his home... There, officers claim to have
found enough weapons and explosives to kill dozens of people.”
According to CNN, the man praised Anders Breivik for his actions in Norway last year.
In a press conference, a member of the Czech Republic Police indicated the suspect admired
Breivik in emails and probably sympathizes with the killer. And Press TV reports the
suspect was also using Breivik’s name online. The police intend on checking for a connection
between the two men.
Press TV says the Czech police feared a copycat attack. Over 400 rounds of ammunition, police
uniforms and masks were found at his place. And when Czech police arrested the suspect
he was carrying a detonator.
"They raided the property after being tipped off that he was planning to detonate a large
explosive device crafted from an aircraft bomb."
And this isn't the first time the suspect has been arrested on explosives-related charges.
Sky News reports he’s been convicted five times in the past on the same grounds. He
was given a six-month suspended sentence in 2010 after exploding a homemade bomb at a
gas station.
CNN reports the man was arrested August 10, but information was not released until later.
