hiring a real estate agent
Hi, Laura Doughty here with Monarch Estates and Homes in Malibu, California and I'm following up a video that I did the other day about hiring a real
estate agent because I was ask a really great question this morning by someone who had seen the video. That question was
how many agents should you actually interview when it comes to hiring a real estate agent
Before I really answer that, I want to say one quick thing. Here at Monarch Estates and Homes, we consider ourselves Lifestyle Realtors and we
handle our clients properties all over the world. So it doesn't matter where they live, we all are their
partner when it comes to their negotiations when it comes to real estate.
So, I want you to really think about that because a lot of times we get in the box that is currently available to us as real estate agents and we don't
realize that we spent all of his time with that agent and they spend that time with us as well trying to know our lifestyle and our interior decorating,
and family and all of those things that we get to know about you.
It's really such an investment on both our parts, it would be such a waste that we would get traded out from a real estate standpoint. So, keep that
in mind as an option for you to have a real estate person as a part of your team, when it comes to Real Estate portfolio.
So, now that I've said that,
there are a couple of things that will be really helpful when it comes to a finding two agents for you to interview.
I would suggest first, outside of referrals from other people,
is to do your own search on Google. The reason I say that is because one its a great tool, two when it comes to marketing
social media and search engine optimization is such a huge part of our business now.
If you are looking for an agent you need to make sure that they're doing their part when it comes to that part of the business. So they need to be
on that first page. I know that makes it really tough for a lot of the other ones but that is really crucial; just one thing that you can take
into consideration because 90% of buyers are online first before they go to any house at all, or an agent. So, that will help you as the seller. The
other thing that a lot of people don't take into consideration because there that may not know about it, is
a designation. Real estate
agents have the opportunity once they've been licensed to continue their education. They can have a GRI, which is a graduate realtors
institute designation. They can have their Broker's license. They can have an International Real Estate Designation. There are many
designations, an RSPS, Resort and Second Property Specialist. There are so many designations out there for us as agents,
that we can further our knowledge and invest in our career.
In turn, for you as the Seller, that enables us to tap into a resource and a network that other agents that don't invest in their future into their
career have access to. So those are two things that really have a separate an agent that you will
look at hiring from the masses and will help to dwindle down
and account for who you should look for. So, hope that's been helpful and you know you can
find us at MonarchEstatesandHomes.com, and I'll speak to you soon. Thanks!
