Hi! It's David again. Thanks for stopping by. We probably met when you saw my first
video on YouTube where I introduced you to my little invention I called the Redneck iPad
stand.
Now, if by chance you haven't seen that video then I suggest you click this link right here,
just below here, and go and see it. I think you'll get a good laugh out of the
first part. It's quite funny.
Now, Let me ask you a question: How many iPads in total do you think Apple
sold so far? - 2 Million?
- 9 Million? - 105 Million?
- 170 Million?
If you answered 170 Million you'd be right. That is a lot of iPads. But, while that number
is interesting that's not why I invented the Redneck iPad stand.
No, the reason I did it was that I own one of those 170 Million iPads. It's
an iPad Mini And my wife and I like to watch videos and TV shows while we're eating dinner
or relaxing in bed leaning upright on a bunch of pillows drinking a nice warm tea and muching
on our desert.
But we soon got real tired of trying to get the iPad to stand up so that I could see the
screen properly.
At first I tried leaning it up on stuff but that didn't last long. Kept on slipping down.
I looked at some of the solutions that others have put together to solve this problem but
found that a lot of them are made out of cardboard and tape, plastic tubing, or blocks of wood
cut that need to be cut on a table saw.
Now, I don't know about you, but I like to do things simple. I don't have the tools to
drill plastic tubing and I don't own a table saw. I do have lots of cardboard and tape
but that's kind of ugly.
We live in a rual area and there lots of bush and trees around here. We we're out one day
last spring walking our dog when I noticed a lot of very slim straight twigs growing
not far from the side of the roadway. None had any leaves on them yet. But they we're
nice and straight and standing straight up.
I cut some of them down and brought them home. Not long after I had made my first iPad stand.
It was very stable but quite crude-looking in a rustic sort of hand-made way. So I called
it the Redneck iPad stand.
I fixed the position of the seat on it so that the iPad sits at a certain height off
the table. I found that this allows for a very comfortable viewing angle and I don't
end up with a stiff neck after watching a video or a even a full-length movie.
I saved a bunch of dough too as it didn't cost me zilch the make the thing.
Since then we've had visitors and friends comment on our little Redneck iPad stand.
So then I thought - I'd give away, for free, the complete full instructions as to how you
could make one for yourself too.
So, if you look down below this page you'll see the link to pick up your own downloadable
PDF for free.
I hope you enjoy the Redneck iPad stand. It's rustic, it's different, no two are ever the
same. No matter what tablet you've got it should work for you. Because you can tweak
it any way you want. Just follow the instructions and change it where-ever you have to.
Oh and by the way, if you do make one for yourself, send me a photo of it. I'd love
to see it. Every month I'm going to choose one that I like the best and the winner will
get a nice prize from me.
So, go down below here have a look and get your free plans. And let me know how you
made out.
