God is not a killjoy. I need to say that
to people, because you know. A lot of
people think that, "Oh, why does God have
all these laws, and all these rules?
I mean, you know? He takes away the fun out
of life, you know. Let's bend a little,
let's stretch a little,
let's go beyond what is allowed, and that's
where the fun is!"
Really? Are you sure? I'm riding a car
right now, and I thank God there traffic
laws out there. Imagine, if there is no
red light law, and hey! You listen to me.
If people can just cross a red light,
you know. Can you just imagine, how many
accidents? And imagine, how many people
will die? Imagine! But no, thank God
there're laws. God is not a killjoy.
The reason why the laws are there, it's for
your blessing. And when
God says, "Do not lie." When God says, "Do not
cheat." When God says, "Thou shalt not
commit adultery." Guess what? It's for our
joy. I've been married for almost 20
years, and I try to be faithful to my
wife in my heart, even in my thoughts, you
know. I want you to know that, and even in
my thoughts, I want to be faithful to her.
I don't want to commit adultery in my
thoughts, and in my heart and you know
what? It's been paying off all that
effort, all that commitment to be
faithful to my wife, we have a fantastic
marriage. We have an
amazing relationship, and it's beautiful!
I want to share that with you right now.
God is not a killjoy. He wants you to
have ultimate joy. Hi, my name is
Bo Sanchez. Welcome to Fulltank,
your place of inspiration. I pray that
you will be blessed, as I read the Gospel
for the day. Matthew 5:17;
"Jesus said, I have come, not to abolish
the law. I have come to fulfill it."
You see? During the time of Jesus, people were
following the Moses law. 613 laws. "613 laws?"
And Jesus said at the end,
"He's come, to fulfill it." How? It's really
the law of love. "Love God, with all your
heart, soul, mind, and strength." "Love your
neighbor, as you love yourself." That's the
essence of all these laws, and He
fulfills them. My dear friend, you need to
discern. Now, listen to me.
I understand, where some people...
When they have this negative attitude
towards laws and rules. You know what?
I understand that. And in one sense,
when you go through life, and you
navigate through life, you need to know
which is essential; the most important
laws. And which are not really laws, but
more of like social expectations, that
they're not really rules or laws.
Can I give you an example? I'm an
entrepreneur. And when you're an
entrepreneur, and when you're succeed in
business? sometimes, you've got to do
unexpected things, and it's a, "So" you're
breaking certain social expectations.
Can I give you an example? Kerygma magazine, that's the
number one inspirational magazine in the
country. We started it in 1990. You know,
in 1990? We were the first spiritual,
religious, inspirational magazine that
was funny, and light. And it was like,
you know. There was like, this unwritten
rule, that religious magazines had to be
formal, and serious, and deep. And we were
the one of the first magazines that said,
"Hey, we're gonna talk about God. And we're
gonna use your language, you know. Simple
and conversational, and story filled with
stories." Anyway, that was the reason why
we we succeeded. And at the end of the
day, you wanna discern,
whether is this God's law, or is this
just, you know. Someone just made it a
rule when it's not really a rule. So, you
need to discern. My prayer, you go to the
essence. At the end of the day, life is
about love. Life is about service. Life is
about giving your life to other people.
That is the ultimate law. "Love your God
with all your heart, soul, mind, and
strength." "Love your neighbor, as you love
yourself." Father in Heaven, I pray for
every personal watching this video, that
you would inspire us. To fulfill, the
ultimate law; the ultimate law of love.
Father in Heaven, help us inspire us.
Father, I pray for every person, and their
needs, that you would be their provider,
and miracle worker. In Jesus' name. Amen
and amen. In the name of the Father, and of
the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. God bless you!
See you tomorrow!
